The deceased youth has been identified as Sarwan Thakur (25), a resident of Laxman Nagar on the 33 Foot Road in Giaspura locality. Hailing from Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh, he was working as a barber here. His body was found from a vacant plot in Giaspura this morning. Some passersby spotted his body and informed the police about it.
After receiving the information, the Shimplapuri police reached the spot to investigate the matter. Later, the SP (City-II) Gurmeet Singh Randhawa also reached the spot to take a stock of the investigations. Police sources said that the police had found a knife and a stone with blood marks and it was suspected that Sarwan Thakur had been killed with this knife and by hitting with this stone. Sources said that it appeared that the illicit relations of the deceased with some woman had provoked the murderer.
The Salem Tabri police have started investigating the matter after registering a murder case against unidentified persons.
