Chandigarh Mika’s performance has left a bad taste in the mouth of several girl students in Panjab University, who have alleged that the singer passed lewd comments to them during his performance at Jhankaar on Saturday.

Deepika Gupta, vice-president of the Students’ Organisation of India, said: “I have received complaints from several girls that Mika used abusive language while performing on stage and passed lewd comments about the girls present there as well. We shall not tolerate such indecent behaviour and want that Mika to publicly apologise to the girls. We will submit a memorandum in this regard to the vice-chancellor on Monday.”

The matter has been reported to Dean Students’ Welfare Professor Naval Kishore. “I have issued a letter demanding an explanation from the president of the students’ council. We are looking into the matter,” said Kishore.

Sources said the PU authorities are planning to ban all star nights on the campus after this incident but a final decision is yet to be taken in this regard.

Recently, a show of singer Amrinder Singh was cancelled midway as the crowd went out of control.
