Chander Bhan, a resident of Bhainsa Tibba village, Mansa Devi complex, was earlier booked under Sections 376,506,363,366 of the IPC after the Panchkula police had registered a case last night on the family’s complaint.
“Chander Bhan was arrested late in the evening today and will be produced in court tomorrow. Also, the medical examination of the victim was carried out at the General Hospital, Sector 6, after which she was taken to the district court for getting her statements recorded before the magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC,” said Station House Officer (SHO), Sector-5 police station, Inspector Baljit Singh.
The family of the victim, meanwhile, claims to have been threatened by the friends and relatives of Chander Bhan. “Friends and relatives of Chander Bhan have been pressurising us to take the case back,” said Prakash Chand, father of the victim.
