Gurgaon Four people lost their lives in separate incidents in Gurgaon in the last 24 hours, three of which were on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.

Lekhraj, a resident of Pataudi, was on his way to Delhi when a truck hit him from behind around 11.30 am in front of Signature Towers here. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. The Civil Lines police have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving against the driver, who is absconding.

In the second incident, reported from near the IFFCO Chowk around 3 pm, an Esteem with an Uttar Pradesh registration number hit a labourer who was crossing the busy road. The victim, identified as Raj Kishore, who was accompanied by another labourer, was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The accused, identified as Priyanka Goel, allegedly left the hospital soon afterwards.

The Sector-18 police have registered a case under section 279 of the Indian Penal Code. No arrests have yet been made in the case.

Elsewhere, one Farmaan, who was travelling on a motorcycle, was hit by an unidentified vehicle in front of 32nd Milestone and died on the spot. The deceased was an electronics mechanic.

The Gurgaon police have registered a case of rash driving against the unidentified driver and are investigating the matter.

In a separate incident, a guard lost his life when a hoarding, which was under repair, fell on him near Shankar Chowk and NH-8 around 6 pm.

The traffic police said the situation could have been worse, since it was rush hour. The section was, however, closed for repairs. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
