Tandon was Vajpayee’s representative in Lucknow. He is also Chief Minister Mayawati’s rakhi brother. But during the recent Assembly session, Tandon made the most trenchant attack on Chief Minister for wasting public money on construction of memorials and had even compared her to Mughal emperors. He had also poked fun at Mishra by calling the BSP as “Brahmin Samaj Party” and questioned his party’s true character.
On Friday, Mishra, who was addressing a Brahmin Sammelan of the BSP, also criticised Sanjay Dutt — Samajwadi Party’s candidate for Lucknow seat.
“The Samajwadi Party has fielded a unique candidate. Dutt will never return to the city after the elections. People have to insert advertisements in newspapers to find him,” said Mishra.
He said Brahmin-Dalit combination of the BSP had unleashed a social revolution in UP which resulted in the formation of the BSP government with a clear majority in 2007. This combination has unnerved all political parties, particularly the Samajwadi Party, he added.
