Vadodara BJP legislator from Waghodia constituency, Madhu Srivastava, met with an accident on Friday at Rajpara village in Nanod taluka of Narmada district. He was admitted to Sterling Hospital in the city on Saturday morning. Inspector N D Solanki of Rajpipla police station told Newsline, “The incident occurred when Srivastava was driving to Rajpara to visit his second wife on Friday night. He was accompanied by his security guard who was sitting on the front seat.” Srivastava lost control of his Honda City (GJ 7 AG 4977) after he was momentarily blinded by the headlights of a truck coming from the opposite direction. Although the locals alleged that the MLA was in an inebriated state, the police said there was no evidence of his being drunk. Srivastava and his guard, Manhar Vasava, were rushed to the Rajpipla Civil Hospital. From there, the legislator was taken to Indrapuri Hospital in Vadodara, and subsequently to Sterling Hospital on Saturday morning. Vasava sustained only minor injuries, said Chandrakant Bhattu, Srivastava’s relative. Gayatri Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Sterling Hospital, said Srivastava has fractured his right leg, besides sustaining minor injuries on the head and hip joint.
