Ambala, March 5 Doctors of the Mullana Medical College and Hospital today demanded an inquiry into the postgraduate medical entrance examination results’ leak by the Central Bureau of Investigation. They supported the protest led by the doctors of the Rohtak Medical College and Hospital and alleged that the candidates who secured good marks in the All-India Postgraduate Entrance Examination this year did not get good ranks in the Rohtak MD/MS entrance examination, including the toppers of Rohtak. This year, the entrance exam was conducted by the PGIMS, Rohtak, about a month ago.

The doctors further claimed that last year very few outsiders were able to achieve top 100 ranks due to the priority given to students who cleared MBBS from Haryana. This year, however, several students could make it to the merit list but didn’t get the benefit of 5 extra marks/10 questions criteria, they added.

They further pointed out that last year the first 30 rankers had not failed even in a single subject during their MBBS examinations, but this year almost all the toppers in the merit list have failed in several subjects during their MBBS annual examinations, conducted by the same university.

The doctors said that the Vice-Chancellor and the Chief Minister have not paid heed to the grievances of the doctors. They further claimed that the date for the completion of internship was extended from April 2008 to May 2008 to accommodate a few selected individuals.

The protesters have threatened to join the state-level rally being held at Rohtak on March 7, if the state government did not order a CBI inquiry to look into the issue.
