She may be petite, but who says a short girl cannot walk the ramp, and the lady we are talking about did not just walk it, but managed to impress her judges pretty well. Meet Joanna Carolina Magge, who ranked among the top ten at the PC Jewellers Miss India Worldwide Contest. “Height was no criteria here so I managed it all quite confidently,” she smiles. Magge is a cosmetologist by profession for the past year-and-a-half and the pageant happened courtesy mommy dear. “It was through the newspapers that I came to know about the contest. My mom was very enthusiastic that I should participate, so she applied on my behalf,” tells Magge adding that she came to know about it only when the organizers called her to inform about the selection. “It was an amazing experience and a good platform for me to explore new things. We had to follow a strict regime during the five-day training period. The day started at eight am and we had grooming sessions all day long.” she elaborates on her regime which included lessons on etiquettes, walk, speaking, make up et al. Magge is also a professional Latin American and belly dancer which helped her during the event. “A good body is something I’m blessed with. Even though I want to gain, metabolism doesn’t let that happen no matter what I do or eat!” With the backing of her family Magge is now busy applying to agencies all over India to pursue still modelling. So, shall we hope to see her on the ramp soon? “I am not interested in catwalk. Modelling can support you as long as you have beauty. After that you need to depend on another career. Moreover, dermatology is my passion and that will be my base,” smiles Magge. Here's wishing her luck!
