More security at Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar, January 3 Police were considering to provide security at the statue of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, in front of the Coochbehar Municipalty building after supporters of Greater Cooch Behar Democratic Party set ablaze the picture of Roy. ASP James Kujur said they will consider extending security cover but the administration will have to give the go ahead.

Chairman of Cooch Behar Municipality Biren Kundu said they the life size statue of Roy were now being guarded by civic employees but in the wake of the vandalism by GCDP on January 1 during a protest movement for statehood, the civic body will write to the district administration.
