Dikshit added that while the contribution of women in public life had a long history, it was unfortunate that they had to fight for equal status even today. Dikshit called upon women to get educated so that they could claim their rights.
Meera Didi Se Poocho has been launched to create awareness among women about the basic legal rights concerning offences like rape, dowry death, domestic violence, sexual harassment at workplace, child marriages, NRI marriages, foeticide, trafficking etc. in simple language. It also describes the Right to Information Act.
