* The sanctioned strength of mounts in the Delhi Police is 95. At present 62 mounts are available with the police and are deployed in districts and units, at a total of 11 places.

* In 2005, mounts were used for law and orders duties for a total of 10,173 hours.

* On an average, mounts are used for either patrolling or law and orders duties for four to five hours. Apart from day-to-day utilisation, training programmes have been organised for the mounted police with President Body Guards Lines and veterinary officers.

Achievements in sports

* The team won five bronze medals at the Shivalink Horse Show, Chandigarh in 2003.

* The team won three gold medals and three silver medals at the All India Police Duty Meet, Hyderabad in 2004.

* The team won one silver and two bronze medals at the Delhi Horse Show, Barar Square, New Delhi in 2004.

* The team won one silver and two bronze medals at the Shivalik Horse Show, Chandigarh in 2004.

* The Delhi Police Equestrian Team won three Gold, four Silver, and three Bronze medals and two fourth positions at the XXIV All India Police Equestrian Meet held at Takenpur District, Gwalior in 2004

* The Delhi Police Equestrian team won two gold, four Silver, and two Bronze medals, and four fourth positions and two trophies, best rider and best horse, at the XXV All India Police Equestrian meet held at NPA, Hyderabad in January 2006.

* The Delhi Police Equestrian team secured two first, two second, two third, and two fourth positions at the Haryana Horse Show Rai, Sonipat in 2006.

* The Delhi Police Equestrian team secured one second, three third, and three fourth positions at the Delhi Horse Show Held at Delhi Cantt in 2006.

* The Delhi Police Equestrian team won two Gold, three Silver, two Bronze, and three fourth positions and the over all Championship Trophy at the Chandigarh Horse Show, held in Chandigarh from April 22 to 30, 2006.
