Vadodara M S university (MSU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramesh Goyal visited the C C Mehta Auditorium on Friday, three days after nearly 35 students had fallen unconscious due to suffocation.

Prof Goyal, who was out of station when the incident occurred, expressed the need for setting up another inquiry committee to investigate into the medical reasons behind the incident.

“While one committee has already been formed to look into the technical aspect, I intend to set up yet another committee to examine the medical reports of the students who fell unconscious,” he said.

He said the university has plans to convert the auditorium into a convention centre of international standards. “The development of the convention centre revolves around the auditorium. While the varsity has plans to change the chairs in the auditorium, it will also see that high technical standards are maintained."
