While students were certainly not in a happy mood, General Secretary of the M S University’s Commerce Faculty, Kunal Patel had a reason ready to explain the gaffe. According to him, P.G. Diploma (Banking) students had burned the question paper on “Financial Institutions”, as many could not attempt it.
Patel said while the students were lodging their protest in front of the Faculty premises, some of the staff made a hurried exit, which enraged the students even further. To add to the confusion, some of the students even alleged that the handwritten questions were illegible.
Dean of the faculty, Professor S.K. Singh admitted that he was aware of the problem and added that the M S University press could not read the handwritten question paper as the handwriting was illegible.
He said that due to some miscommunication the said paper was distributed to the students. He said he would sort out the matter at the earliest so that the students do not suffer, adding that notices have sent to all concerned departments to send only typewritten question papers to the press in future. Patel, meanwhile, said, he would meet the dean on behalf of the students on Tuesday morning and demand an early resolution to the matter.
