Lucknow Calling for the dismissal of the Mayawati government, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh demanded on Thursday that the list of fund contributors on the occasion of her birthday be made public.

Condemning the police lathicharge on his party workers and leaders, he demanded intervention by the UPA government in affairs of the state as constitutional machinery has failed in UP.

Targeting Income Tax department, the SP chief alleged that its officials were conniving with Mayawati, helping her to convert black money collected through extortion into white money.

“Why is the Income Tax department maintaining conspicuous silence on the huge collections made by Mayawati? They were hyperactive while investigating my case, but are very benevolent towards Mayawati” he said.

The department, he said, should intervene and ask for the account of the collections made on her birthday.

Accusing the chief minister of converting black money into white by taking demand drafts after paying in cash to her party workers, the SP chief said: “Mayawati herself claimed that this year, the collections on her birthday doubled in comparison to the last. She should also reveal the actual amount collected by her party”.

Taking a dig at Governor TV Rajeswar, he said that when he was the chief minister, the Governor used to frequently write to the Centre about his government. “But now, he seems to have developed close friendship with the present chief minister. I am afraid whether he is in the grip of Mayajaal.”

Daring Mayawati to arrest him, the SP chief said: “I am consulting my party leaders and will lead the agitation by the party for dislodging the present corrupt, anti-people government.”
