Ludhiana Mother-daughter commit suicide, Congman and woman murdered and one burnt to death by in-laws

Two women committed suicide and two men were found murdered in the city. A local girl who was married in Hoshiarpur was burnt to death allegedly by her in-laws.

A 35-year-old woman from Sangrur along with her mentally challenged eight-year-old daughter committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train near Model Gram railway station here this evening. The deceased have been identified as Guddi and her daughter Gifty. The Government Railway Police said they were investigating the possible causes of suicide.

In another incident, meanwhile, the police found the body of a lower-rung youth Congress leader from a vacant plot near Big Bazaar on the Jalandhar Bypass this morning. The youth, Vicky Rana (27), was missing since Sunday.

According to police, the general secretary of the District Congress left his house on Sunday afternoon but did not return.

His motorcycle and mobile phone were also missing and his body bore injury marks.

The Salem Tabri police have registered a murder case against unidentified persons.

In another case, the headless body of an unidentified woman was found from Aalewal village under the Laddowal police station.

The body was spotted by a villager in the open fields. Sources said that as the head of the body was missing, the identity of the woman could not be established.

A murder case against unidentified persons has also been registered in this regard.

Meanwhile, Radha Rani (24) who was married to one Harpal Singh in Hoshiarpur was allegedly burnt to death by her in-laws for dowry. Meanwhile, her body was brought to her brother's house on the Noorwala Road and was later cremated.
