New Delhi Kuldeep Singh was awarded the Shaurya Puraskar in Mumbai on Saturday. He had saved hundreds on lives in the October 29 blast in 2005. He was driving the DTC bus on Outer Ring Road route where a bomb had been kept in a rexine bag. A passenger noticed the bag three seats behind the driver’s and alerted the conductor. He made the driver stop the bus. The only solution seemed to be to throw the bag away and as Singh tried to do that, the blast occurred. Singh had been seriously injured in the blast.
