Pune Ruling out the possibility of his party's ally Shiv Sena joining hands with the NCP, BJP General Secretary Gopinath Munde on Thursday said the political equations in the state will not change.

"There is no truth in the reports of Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray meeting NCP chief Sharad Pawar for a pre-poll alliance," Munde told reporters here on the speculation of Sena going with the NCP.

The Shiv Sena and the BJP are in alliance on the common agenda of Hindutva, he said adding, "Shiv Sena is more inclined towards Hindutva. There will be a pre-poll alliance between the two parties".

He said that the Sena is an alliance partner of BJP and if need be his party would not mind to take two steps backward to ensure pact with the Sena.

On the Sena to support the NCP chief for the post of Prime Minister, Munde said, "The Sena supreme has never made such commitment. I have been hearing since childhood the possibility of Pawar becoming the Prime Minister".

Protesting against the damage to the shrine of Krantiveer Lahuji Vastad shrine in Sangamwadi, the BJP leader threatened to stall the proceedings of forthcoming state assembly session if the state government fails to arrest those responsible for it.

Munde refuted differences of opinion within the city unit of BJP. When pointed out the absence of city BJP chief Girish Bapat in the meeting called by him recently, he said that he was out of station and could not attend the meeting called without prior notice.

He said the party will field candidate of Bapat's choice for the Pune Lok Sabha seat. Munde was here to participate in a rally to protest the damage to Krantiveer Lahuji Vastad Shrine in Sangamwadi.
