New Delhi With the arrest of two persons on Thursday, the police claim to have solved the murder case of Ravinder Kaur Gill (53), the wife of Additional Registrar (Security) of Supreme Court.

Gill’s body was found by her husband in a pool of blood with stab wounds at their residence in Saini Enclave in Anand Vihar on Wednesday night.

Two men, who had come to the house to make sofas, had murdered the woman for mere 10 euros and a DVD player, the police said. Gill, who was alone at the house, was stabbed 18 times by Hemant Kumar and Ravi Kumar Sinha, both residents of Nand Nagri.

The police have recovered the robbed articles, the knife used in the crime and blood-stained clothes from the possession of the accused.

“After the crime, we found iron nails lying near a half-repaired sofa in the house. The domestic help Chameli informed that a sofa-maker had to come to the house, before which accused carpenter Hemant Kumar had done some repair work,” Anand Mohan, DCP (east), said.

A case under section 302 (murder) of the IPC has been registered against the accused
