Surat A hot water bag intended to ameliorate the condition of Bollywood music director Ismail Darbar’s mother has led to a dispute between the director and the authorities of Dr Girish Group of Hospitals.

A native of Surat, Darbar's mother Jaitunbibi was admitted in the ICU on Saturday after she suffered a paralytic attack.

Her family alleged that a hot water bag meant to relax her instead caused her superficial burns and triggered a cardiac arrest.

Jaitunbibi complained of back pain to the hospital staff on Tuesday night, following which she was given a hot water bag to relax her back.

But the staff failed to remove the bag on time due to which the patient started shivering and even suffered a cardiac arrest on early Wednesday morning, alleged her daughter Shaheda.

Darbar, meanwhile, warned the hospital authorities that he would brook no negligence in his mother's treatment.

The hospital authorities including Dr Girish Shah later said that they are checking if the hot water bag further worsened Jaitunbibi's medical condition.

“Ismail's mother suffers from many ailments like heart problems, paralysis, kidney failure and others. Earlier, we had treated her twice and discharged her after she was all right.”

She was undergoing treatment since Saturday and her condition was critical. We are trying to find out if the hot water bag kept on the back worsened her condition," said Shah.
