Lucknow, March 6 Another bureaucrat faces the wrath of the Mayawati government for not following directives.

Senior IAS officer NS Ravi from the post of LDA Vice-Chairman and sent to Allahabad as a member Revenue Boad. Ravi was replaced by senior PCS officer Ram Bahadur. He is the fourth PCS officer in the history of LDA to hold the office.

A senior government official said: "Land conversion for Ambedkar Memorial in Gomti Nagar is the reason why Ravi has been sent to Allahabad, which is considered a punishment posting".

Sources in the LDA confirmed that Ravi was asked to do land conversion for the green belt, which is in the area earmarked for Ambedkar Memorial. He had pointed out that the government was already facing a contempt case, and refused to abide by the directive to change the land use for Ambedkar Memorial.

Ram Bahadur is incidentaly the fifth LDA V-C in 10 months since the present government came in power in May 2007. Mohinder Singh was the first to take over the post, but lasted about a week. Next, Harbhajan Singh held the post for around four months. Then came Kishan Singh Atoria who did not complete a month in the office.

Ravi had taken over in November 2007.
