Inspector of the local crime branch Bahusaheb Andhalkar got a tip off that Sachin Ganpat Jambukar has illegaly stored naptha at his residence in Jambukarvasti, Nanekarwadi in Chakan and is planning to sell it. Andhalkar also got to know that he does not have a licence to store naphtha.
A police team, led by Inspector Dashrat Patil, raided his house at 12.15 am on Sunday. The police seized a jeep, 11 barrels of naptha from the jeep; each barrel had 200 litres of naptha stored. The police also recovered 27 barrels of naptha from his residence. Though the police arrested Jambukar, two of his associates Gorakshanath Aher, Santosh Jambukar, both residents of Chakan are absconding.
