According to Special Public Prosecutor Sudhir Brahmbhatt, Gohil is accused of supporting the mob, which went on a rampage in the locality, killing around 11 people. Gohil also did not open fire to prevent the mob from running amok. Besides, he also allowed the bodies to burn for 48 hours without calling the fire brigade or officials from the forensic science laboratory.
Earlier, Investigating Officer, Superintendent of Police P L Mal had moved a remand application before the Metropolitan Magistrate while producing Gohil before the court after the arrest.
The court had, however, rejected the application and sent Gohil to judicial custody. Following this, the SIT moved a revision application before the Sessions Court challenging the order of the Metropolitan Court.
Sessions Judge R H Sharma had kept the hearing on the bail application on Wednesday. The matter was, however, adjourned till Thursday, as the investigating officer did not carry the case diary to the court.
