NDA cadet passes away

Pune Nitesh Gaur, a cadet of the 121st Course at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, passed away on Thursday evening. Gaur was involved in a routine training activity — cross-country run practice — when he suddenly collapsed. He was immediately rushed to Military Hospital, Khadakwasla, where the specialist medical authority attended to him. He was declared dead around 5.45 pm, said a press note from the NDA. The body was shifted to Sassoon Hospital and the post-mortem report is awaited. Gaur hailed from Bhopal and his parents have arrived at the NDA. A court of inquiry has been convened to look into the matter, the note said.
