While honouring the NCC cadets and officers from Punjab and Chandigarh who took part in the Republic Day parade on Thursday, he called upon them to develop a culture of care, compassion and commitment to further reinforce their capacities and capabilities to contribute more effectively to society and the country as a whole.
Motivating NCC cadets to utilise the infrastructure support provided to them in shooting and other adventure games, General Rodrigues said,”The Chandigarh Administration will extend full support to them and that there is a need to develop a sense of commitment and confidence among the present generation.”
Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal while speaking on the occasion strongly pleaded the youth of Punjab to join the Armed Forces. He assured all financial support to the NCC organisation for carrying out their goals and activities.
Highlighting the future plans, Directorate Deputy Director General Brig Rajendra Singh laid special emphasis on shooting and adventure activities. Cadets of the region displayed tremendous keenness in activities such as trekking and mountaineering expeditions to MT Thaelu and Bhagirathi. “The cadets have excelled in shooting, micro light flying and horse riding at the national level,” he added.
