The police said Chinoso Valentine Neebe alias Doughlas, who posed as an official of the British High Commission, was himself staying in Delhi on fake visa documents.

The police arrested the accused after five people from Andhra Pradesh and one from Nepal were caught by immigration officials at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in January. They were about to board a London-bound flight on forged visa documents.

“They said Sushant Nayak (the Hyderabad-based associate) and Doughlas took Rs 4 to 6 lakh each from them for a job in the United Kingdom,” a senior police officer said.

Along with his wife Neelam, Sushant runs a business of export, import and international placement in Hyderabad.

The five persons said they met Doughlas in the Chanakyapuri area of New Delhi and that he was in an Indica car. From the car’s registration number the police traced the driver, who led them to the Hauz Khas residence of Doughlas. The driver also told the police that he was injured in a recent brawl in a discotheque.

The police have recovered forged visa documents from the residence, while 40 passports have been seized from Sushant’s Hyderabad office.
