Ludhiana, March 7 The National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA) today took out a protest rally and handed over a memorandum to the DC and the SSP condemning the recent incident of violence at Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital on Sunday following the death of a patient.

Dr Surendra Gupta, secretary of the district unit of the National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA), said in a press release issued here today that their association had been deeply hurt by the unruly behavior and mob violence targetted against the doctors and staff at the Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital in Model Town on Sunday.

The association felt that such acts were nothing but an attempt to destroy the holistic basis and foundation of physician-patient relationship.

Dr Rajesh Thaper, president, NIMA, said that role of authorities had further added fuel to fire. To show solidarity with the fellow colleagues and force the authorities to stop action against the doctor and staff of Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital, the association has decided to organise a “NIMA Rosh Rally.”
