The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, and National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, qualified for the final rounds which was judged by a bench comprising three sitting judges of the Supreme Court of India — Justice Dalveer Bhandari, Justice Markandey Katju and Justice G S Singhvi — along with Justice T S Thakur, chief justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice J L Gupta, former chief justice, Kerala High Court, Dr Manoj K Sinha, director, Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) and Dr C Jairaj, also from the ISIL.

NLSIU, Bangalore, emerged victorious and will represent India in the world finals to be held at Washington DC in March. While the Best Memorial award was bagged by West Bengal National University of Judicial Sciences, Kolkata, the second Best Memorial award was given to NLIU, Bhopal and NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad emerged third in the category. University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, was awarded the fourth Best Memorial in the category.
