Kolkata The passengers of the Singapore-Kolkata-Dhaka flight were stranded for nearly eight hours at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on Sunday.

They alleged that neither food nor water was provided onboard and that the flight officials also failed to keep them updated on the delay.

The passengers also alleged that long delay resulted in the plane toilets becoming dirty and unusable.

It was only after passengers protested that provisions for food and water were later made for them.

The flight landed in Kolkata around 1.15 am on Sunday after being delayed at the Singapore Airport by nearly seven hours.

Air India authorities, meanwhile, said that poor visibility and dense fog over Dhaka in the morning hours caused the flight to be detained at the Kolkata Airport.

The flight was given clearance by the air control and they took off later in the morning nearly 15 hours behind schedule, said Airport officials.
