Jalandhar The 12th Special Olympics was inaugurated here today. A torch march was taken out from Nehru Garden school to Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in presence of chief patron of the district special Olympics Association, Commissioner, Jalandhar division, S R Ladhar.

However, while the special children were taken in cars and jeeps, the students of the government schools were made to sit in tractor trolleys.

It brings out the indifferent attitude towards the students of these schools who were made to travel in such unsafe vehicles, said a teacher of government school.

Later, Punjab Technical Education and Social Security minister Chaudhary Swarna Ram said homes for special children will come up in Jalandhar, Patiala, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur and Amritsar districts.
