Noida Three more accused were arrested by the Noida police on Saturday in the case involving the gangrape of an MBA student on Monday evening.

The police claimed Golu Jatav, Shashikant, alias Kalu, and Omkar were hiding in Noida and were caught while trying to escape to another state. With Saturday’s arrests, the police have ten out of the eleven accused in custody. Pushpendra, alias Tuiya, is yet to be arrested.

After Naveen Arora, senior superintendent of police, Gautam Budh Nagar, announced a reward of Rs 2,500 per head for the absconding accused, the Inspector General of Meerut zone, Gurdarshan Singh, too announced a reward of Rs 10,000 last night.

Anil Samania, Sector-39 station house officer, said the accused were arrested while waiting near Amrapali Chowk in Sector-44 for conveyance to transport them out of the city. “They were hiding somewhere near the village. The local intelligence unit tipped us off about their presence in Sector-44 and we arrested them before they could flee the city,” Samania said.

The police said they have recovered two mobile phones and one gold ring from the accused. “The accused, when searched, were found in possession of the mobile phones of the two victims. We have also recovered the girl’s ring,” the Sector-39 SHO said.
