Kolkata For Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Baneree, balance — in gender, community and age — seems to be the key word in order to determine the composition of her party’s Member, Mayor-In-Councils (MMIC) in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC).

It is learnt that Mamata will put up at least three women councillors for running several MICs. At least two Trinamool councillors from the minority community are likely to get berths in Sovan Chatterjee’s cabinet.

After announcing the names of mayor, deputy mayor, chairman and party leader in the KMC on Sunday, Banerjee is now considering several names for the posts of MMICs.

The probables include Soshi Panja, Trinamool Congress councillor from Ward 26 who is likely to be named as MMIC in-charge of health. The other names include Atin Ghosh, party councillor from Ward 11, physician Partha Hazari from Ward number 17, Firad Hakim from Ward number 82, Samsujjaman Ansari from Ward 136, Anita Ghosh from Ward 11 and Dr Shantanu Sen from Ward 2.

For the Bidhannagar Municipality, Mamata is reportedly considering the names of Anupam Dutta and Debasis Jana for the posts of Members, Chairman-In-Council. Mamata has already announced that Anita Mandal, Trinamool Congress councillor, will be the chairperson of the civic body, which her party has won after 33 years.
