Chandigarh, January 8 The High Court has issued notices to Haryana; Director, Secondary Education; Haryana Staff Selection Commission and four teachers on a petition filed by eleven residents of Haryana, also teachers by profession.

The petitioners have sought quashing of the results of 266 posts of head master/mistress published by the Staff Selection Commission on November 6, 2007, on the grounds that it contains the roll numbers of various candidates who do not even possess the prescribed essential qualifications/experience of eight years teaching on master cadre.

The eleven teachers have further sought directions to the parties concerned that all of them (the eleven teachers) not only possess the prescribed qualifications/ experience, but are also entitled for the prescribed preference being MA/MSc/MCom etc. They also demanded that they be selected and appointed for the posts of Head Masters/Head Mistress according to merit while the names/ roll numbers of those who do not possess eight years teaching experience on the Master cadre be verified and deleted from the list.

Directions have also been sought for a stay on the operation of the list and restrain on authorities from proceeding with the selection or issuing appointment letters to ineligible candidates.
