Notification to acquire land for Taj Expressway issued

Agra, February 1 The state government has issued notification to acquire land for the 150-km long Taj Expressway. As per the notification issued under the Land Acquisition Act, 680 bighas of land from 15 villages will be acquired that will affect 1,252 farmers in the area.

The villages where lands will be acquired for the Expressway include Kuberpur, Chaugan, Chhalesar, Nadau, Dhaurau, Gurha, Maloopur, Ram Nagar, Khandauli, Hijipur Kheda, Khediya Khandauli, Parvatpur, Sorai, Nakepur, Ojrai and Poiya.

The notification states that all the objections over the land acquisition should be registered at the Land Acquisition Office at the collectorate between February 14 and 20.

During the same period, the affected farmers will get to know about the amount of compensation.
