Kolkata Parents of Park Circus-based Don Bosco School has approached the Council for School Certificate Examination in India (CISCE) demanding re-admission of those students who have been denied admission by the school on “disciplinary” grounds.

About a dozen students, who have passed the Class X Board exams have not been re-admitted in Class XI despite their good performance and some even scoring 80 per cent marks. “If our children have done something terribly wrong we want to know what is it. The school is not saying anything. We just want an explanation behind the school’s decision to not take our children back,” said S Doshi , a parent.

The parents, who tried to protest outside the school on Tuesday but without much success, alleged that the school has denied admission misconduct ground.

“Even after securing above 80 per cent marks, my child has been denied admission. When we approach other schools they too don’t admit him. Instead they ask us why your child has been turned away by Don Bosco,” said a parent. The parents said the children are being subjected to undue pressure. “My son studied in the school from lower kindergarten. In the 12 years, we adhered to all the rules and regulations of the school. Why the school has a grudge against our children?” said Elorra Saha, another parent.
