Panchkula The public prosecutors in the state have decided to proceed on mass casual leave on February 28 to protest against the disparity in pay scales even after the announcement of the Sixth Pay Commission. Haryana Attorneys’ Association President Surinder Bairagi announced the decision in a press conference at the Panchkula Bar Council on Wednesday.

The association members have also decided to sport black badges in their respective districts from Thursday .

“The association was forced to resort to agitation after waiting for years as the Pay Anomalies Committee failed to consider its demands. Even allowances of the prosecution department approved by the Haryana CM was not cleared by the pay committee”, said Bairagi.

He added that while other professionals were accorded a grade pay of Rs 5,400, the public prosecutors were placed at Rs 4,700.

The SDEs (Sub Divisional Engineers) from PWD (B&R), Panchyati Raj, HSAMB, HUDA, Irrigation and Public Health, meanwhile, proceeded on mass casual leave from Wednesday.
