Vadodara, February 1 Students and faculty members of the Faculty of Performing Arts at M S University were shocked on Friday morning when they saw obscene remarks about dean Mahesh Champaklal and three other teachers scribbled on the walls of the premises.

While university authorities immediately coated the writing on the walls, a group of faculty members and other officials started investigating the matter, questioning students and security personnel present in the premises.

According to V V Ranade, the dean of the students, the faculty members condemned the act and demanded the registrar of the university to order an inquiry into the matter. No police complaint was, however, lodged in this regard.

Some of the faculty members suspect that due to laxity in the security (most of the students and faculty members were busy participating in the annual college festival), some miscreants may have vandalised the walls during the night.

Champaklal, who was out of station to attend a conference in Kolkata, suspects it to be the handiwork of some outsiders. MSU Students' Union general secretary Rupesh Prajapati also condemned the incident and demanded a probe into the matter.
