Officials asked to identify vacant plots for setting up public utility projects

Chandigarh, January 31 UT Administrator Gen (retd) SF Rodrigues today visited Sarangpur Institutional Area and took stock of the progress of various projects including Education City, Film City, Amusement Park and Equestrian Academy.

With the senior officials of the Chandigarh Administration, he discussed broader framework and roadmap for creation of physical and supportive structure including access roads, water supply, electricity and provision of adequate health services.

He asked the officials to introduce adequate solar power and water harvesting systems in the planning process of various projects. He suggested the need to develop an “eventing” track in the equestrian academy, to meet future needs.

Rodrigues also visited the Modern Terminal Market site. He asked the team of officials, including Home Secretary, Finance Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Architect and Chief Engineer, to put in place an effective institution mechanism for coordinating the various agencies involved in the execution of various components of the project.

Rodrigues also asked the officials to identify vacant spaces in the city, and institute a speedy planning process for their profitable use and setting up public utility projects making the life of people more convenient and comfortable.
