Mohali Newly promoted Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Prabhjot Singh Mand took over as the new Mohali Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday.

Incidentally, Mand had served as Kharar tehsilar way back in 1986 before being selected in the Punjab Civil Services (PCS). At that time, Mohali was part of Kharar tehsil.

On Wednesday, Mand was accorded a guard of honour from the contingent of the Mohali police on his arrival at the District Administrative Complex in Phase I.

Amid friends and colleagues, he took stock of the district administration’s functioning while chairing a maiden meeting with the officials.

In his first formal message as Deputy Commissioner, Mand assured public friendly administration. “Every place has its problems and aspirations, which I will try my best to address,” the new DC asserted.

Mand said Mohali holds a special status as it shares boundary with state capital Chandigarh. He said he will work for the district’s overall development on the pattern of the City Beautiful. “Government policies and programmes will be taken to the grassroots level without any delay in public delivery system,” he concluded.
