All of February has seen Maureen Wadia, the chairman of Gladrags, breeze in and out of the city in a relentless pursuit of finding new faces for her Mega model and Manhunt contests. While the auditions held recently ran to a full house with wannabe models lining up, looks like Maureen wasn’t too impressed. For the just-released list of 20 finalists for the Gladrags Manhunt contest to be held on March 28 in Mumbai boasts of just one name from the region. He’s 19-year-old Govind

A final year student from DAV College, Sector 10, the tall and unassuming Govind is all set to fly to Mumbai this Tuesday for the rigorous grooming sessions. “While I am really nervous, there’s a lot of excitement as well,” admits Govind standing tall at 6 feet 3 inches. Having zilch modeling exposure, Chaudhary actually walked in the auditions after friends persuaded him to give the contest a try. “The meeting with Mrs Wadia was brief too. After asking us to walk as we would normally, she just asked me a question on how I felt about the recent terror attacks in Mumbai. To this I replied it was both sad and painful,” Chaudhary offers a quick update. And from the looks of it, he scored well in the physical attributes section as well. “I have been working out for a while now. I have a personal fitness consultant from the city Sachin Kalra who has been helping me,” informs Govind who spends as much as three to four hours on his workouts, planned across the week. On what could make him a possible Gladrags winner, Govind feels, “I am disciplined and I have the right level of confidence.”
