The reason behind the murder was the altercation of the accused with the parents of the deceased a few days ago. Kiran had gone missing on Monday around 9 pm from her family shop on the Samrala Road and her body was found from Grain Market waterhead the next morning.
Khanna SSP Sukhminder Singh Mann said, "The accused has confessed to his crime. The second accused is still at large." The SSP added, "An altercation between the accused and Kiran's parents was the main reason behind the incident and Kiran had beaten up the accused with a stick." Mann said, "Both the accused took away Kiran at an abandoned place in the Grain Market by gagging her."
