One dead, 35 hurt as bus rams into tree

Vadodara A person died and 35 others were injured after a state transport bus rammed into a tree while trying to save a pedestrian who was crossing the Jhunda-Jeetpur State Highway Road in Nanod Taluka of Narmada district, on SaturdayPolice said that most of the injured were women, who were coming back from Mahila Sammelan addressed by Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Inspector T K Patel of Rajpipla Police Station said, "The driver took a sudden turn in order to save a person who was crossing the road. However, the person could not be saved."

He added that the deceased is yet to be identified.

However the passengers injured in the accident were rushed to Rajpipla Civil Hospital.
