One held for illegal sale of railway reservation tickets

Mumbai The Railway Protection Force, Dadar, Central Railway, has arrested a proprietor of a travel agency at Kurla for illegal sale of railway reservation tickets. DK Jaiswal, the proprietor, was produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Friday and remanded in police custody till Monday.

According to RPF sources, the arrest followed a complaint that the travel agency had taken extra money for booking a reservation ticket. The travel agency, Deekay Travel, Kurla (W) was raided by senior inspector Ajay Sansare and his team on March 5 on the instructions of Chief Security Commissioner BS Siddhu and Senior Divisional Security Commissioner SC Parhi.

Sansare said, “As many as 25 opening reservation tickets and tatkal tickets were confiscated from the agency. These tickets are worth Rs 25,000-Rs 30,000. We have filed a case against Jaiswal under Section 143 (black marketing of railway reservation tickets).

According to railway sources, Jaiswal, an authorised agent of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, was authorised only for e-booking.
