Lalru Om Prakash, 29, a resident of Yamunanagar, was killed following a collision between five vehicles near a traffic police barrier on Ambala-Chandigarh highway in Lehli village on Tuesday. According to information, the traffic police personnel present at the barrier remained mute spectators as the profusely bleeding victim kept lying on the road for over half-an-hour, after which he was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Police said a Haryana Roadways bus, on its way from Ambala to Kalka, was hit by a rashly driven truck from behind. Subsequently, the bus rammed into a stationery tanker. A total of seven passengers were travelling in the bus, of whom Om Prakash fell out from the rear door of the bus. In another mishap, a Mahindra jeep rammed into a tractor-trolley parked on the road, leaving both the drivers injured. Meanwhile, the vehicular traffic remained badly disrupted on the highway following the mishaps, which occurred during a short interval.
