Lined up next is the section between Indraprastha and Noida Sector 32 City Centre, expected in another few months. Then comes the Anand Vihar stretch, a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official said.
Now awaiting its final inspection, the Jahangirpuri line has come eight months before deadline, the Metro official said. Going by the pace of work on other stretches, Metro officials are confident a few more of the 10 lines to be opened in phase-II would also beat deadlines.
“The line will have five stations: at GTB Nagar, Model Town, Azadpur, Adarsh Nagar and Jahangirpuri. All of them, barring GTB Nagar, will be elevated stations,” DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal said. “The line covers 6.36 km and is expected to carry 1.51 lakh passengers every day.”
