Pune, March 2 If you are a class XII student, you would be busy with studies as the board exams are going on. But if you come across a difficult question and there is no one around to give you an answer, here is a solution. Just log on to http://mh-hsc.ac.in and post your query. Around 4,000 HSC students have tried it and got answers!

The online helpline of the State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board is getting a very good response. Students of class X can avail themselves of this facility for queries on mathematics and science, while students of class XII can get their doubts in physics, chemistry, mathematics and statistics solved on the website.

"We have kept this online help line open during the exam period also so that the students can benefit," said Vijaysheela Sardesai, chairman of the State Board. "This is the first year of the revised syllabus for class XII. We also introduced oral exams for languages and practical exams for mathematics, geography and childcare. There was anxiety among students as to how these exams would be conducted. To have their doubts cleared, we started this online helpline," she said.

The help line has some interesting questions. Considern this: 'How to learn formulae and expression?' and the answer goes like this: 'After understanding the concept only, try to write expression on a blank page.' There are some questions regarding the syllabus, such as 'Which textbook should be referred to for chemistry?' or requests like 'Please tell me about the changes in curriculum.' "The website can be used by teachers also. Our experts in the fields concerned or board of studies continuously follow up the website and answer the questions," said Sardesai. "We are also trying to reduce the time period in giving answers, so that it can be more interactive," said secretary of the State Board Vinay Dakshindas.
