Ludhiana, January 5 On-the-counter health insurance by NsurePlus in association with National Insurance Company was started with extension counter at DMCH and HDHI today.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Kant Munjal, president of DMCH Managing Society, said, “NsurePlus, a division of Hero Corporate Services, is a recent foray of the Hero Group into the sunrise insurance industry. It was launched as a non-life insurance initiative jointly with National Insurance Company, as a Corporate Agency in 2004.”

S.K. Munjal said that NsurePlus and National Insurance Company in association with DMCH has set up two desks manned by qualified and trained personnel to explain the benefits and features of various insurance covers available. The visitors to the hospital facility can choose from these covers in accordance with their needs and requirements after payment of the insurance premium and compliance of minimum formalities.

He said it was also proposed to make available the cash-less facility to the holder of personal accident/medical insurance policies issued from DMCH. In addition to this, it would be a concerted and deliberate effort of NsurePlus to spread insurance awareness among people from all walks of life, particularly those coming from rural and semi-urban areas.

In his address, Dr Daljit Singh said health insurance policy would help you sail through any untoward medical contingency without landing you in a financial crunch. Given the high cost of health care, it is imperative to protect yourself and your family against any medical mishap. Dr Wander urged people to get their health insured as the rising cost of advanced medical care was aming it inaccessible to many. “The best time to get health insurance is when one is young, for it gives one the peace of mind that if an eventuality arises at least his medical expenses will be taken care of. Also, as medical insurance becomes wide-spread, the premium cost will decrease making insurance more and more affordable as has been seen in the state of Karnataka,” said Dr Wander.
