Reiterating that LK Advani was the prime ministerial candidate, he said till date no meeting with the NDA has been organised so far, but once it’s held, the common minimum programme would be chalked out. He added that the Akali manifesto was being drafted by party secretary general SS Dhindsa.

But when asked who, he first remained quiet and when repeatedly nudged, he said, “The lady of the house will fight from there.” He did not specify if she would be his wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal or mother Surinder Kaur Badal.
Sukhbir said as the Home Minister of the state, he would make sure that the elections were free and fair. “Nobody will be allowed to take law in their hands,” he added.
He said three international airports in Punjab, one already functional, have got the nod and would come up at Mohali and near Ludhiana.
