Pact for buildings of medical colleges

Chandigarh Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation (HSCC), a Union government enterprise, and the Punjab government signed an agreement for providing consultancy on construction of buildings in Government Guru Ram Dass Medical College and Hospital Complex Amritsar and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot. Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said the Punjab government was committed to upgrade the health and medical facilities to provide better and affordable health services to the people.

Badal urged HSCC to complete the work in the given time frame. Vice-Chairman State Planning Board Prof JS Bajaj said the Medical Education and Research department, along with the BFUHS, would be spending Rs 144.16 crore on the construction of new buildings. Medical Education and Research Minister Tikshan Sud assured the CM that the works would be completed within 18 to 24 months. PIDB would be the nodal agency for their implementation.
