Ghalu after entering the country through Wagha border had paid his respects at Jalianwala Bagh, Golden temple and Durgiana temple in Amritsar.
Ghalu raises his voice on various social issues in Pakistan has been instrumental in getting cremation ground for Hindus in Multan. He was welcomed at the railway station in Ludhiana by the members of Indo-Pak Friendship Club.
When he came to know about the problem faced by Hindus in cremating the dead with religious rights, he took up the matter with administration along with Khalid Mahmood Qureshi and advocate Bhatti, members of Pakistan Animal Save Movement.
In Multan, there are about 300 Hindus, mostly belonging to Valmiki Samaj. Ghalu said that the Minority Department of Pakistan had sanctioned Rs 7 lakh for purchasing the land for the cremation ground.
Apart from this, he is trying to get many historical Hindu and Jain shrines declared as heritage sites. Prominent among these is Parlahd temple where Holika was burnt.
Varinder Jain, Dr Sandeep Kumar Jain, Keemti Lal Jain, Rakesh Jain of Indo-Pak Friendship Club, Lakshman Dravid Chaudhry Yash Pal, Ashwani Sahota of BHVADHAS, Ram Lal Arora, Harish Kapur, Amit Kapur of Katas Raj Yatra Samiti, Shiv Ram Saoya of Ravi Dass Mission welcomed him at the railway station. While extending a hand of friendship to the representatives of all societies, he also invited them for visit to Pakistan.
