Panchtantra, Amar Chitra Katha to be part of school syllabus

Chandigarh, February 7 The UT Education Department has decided to promote moral education among the students. The students will be made to read stories from the Panchtantra and Amar Chitra Katha. Movies on moral values will be screened and shown to the students.

The campaign will be launched in schools soon. The department officials also plan to hold seminars for creating awareness among the students. The Director Public Instructions (schools), S K Setia said, “Recently, cases of children running away from homes has increased. Thus, we decide to impart moral education to the students.”

Meanwhile, the education department will also arrange moral education lectures at the schools. Anujit Kaur, GMSSS-18, said, “It is a wonderful step taken by the education department. It would help the students learn moral values.”

A day of functions at SD College
A number of events were organised at GGDSD College, Sector 32. A workshop on “Group Discussions and Personal Interviews” was organised for postgraduate and undergraduate students in the college premises on Thursday.
The event was organised to help students brace up for the upcoming placement season. Amit Hans, an education consultant also provided guidelines and techniques for mastering the art of facing interviews.
Dr N K Sahni, HoD, Commerce and Management, said that these workshops help the students develop a versatile personality.
